Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Pokopal ("the App"), provided by Zihe Wang of Octopus's Garden ("we", "us"), handles information when you use our iOS application.

The short version

  • No account is required to use the App.
  • Your befriended Pokémon collection and preferences are stored locally on your device.
  • The App itself contains no ads, no account, and no cross-app tracking. This marketing website uses PostHog product analytics to record aggregated usage (page views, button clicks).
  • We do not sell your personal data — ever.

Information we don't collect

We do not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, or other personal information to use the core features of the App.

Information stored on your device

Your befriended Pokémon collection, color scheme, accent color, active island selection, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage. We do not have access to this data. If you delete the App, this data is removed from your device.

Analytics and crash reporting

The iOS App does not include third-party analytics or advertising trackers. Apple may provide developers with opt-in crash logs and diagnostics if you have enabled sharing with app developers in iOS Settings. This marketing website (pokopal.zihe.dev) uses PostHog product analytics to record aggregated usage events such as page views and button clicks (e.g. TestFlight join clicks). PostHog may set first-party cookies or local storage entries to deduplicate visitors. We do not link this data to any personal identity and we never sell it.

Permissions

The App is designed as an offline-friendly reference and collection tracker. If a future version asks for optional permissions, you can grant or revoke them at any time in iOS Settings.

Children's privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share data with advertisers for cross-app tracking.

Your choices

You can disable Apple diagnostic sharing in iOS Settings. You can clear all locally stored App data by deleting the App from your device.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you within the App.
